Makeup, Not Filter?
On April 12th, Park Bom posted a video on her social media account with the caption, “Come back home~ come back home~ yeah Luv you all”. The video appears to have been filmed during concert rehearsals, and shows Park Bom singing a snippet of 2NE1’s song “Come Back Home.”

What especially stood out was Park Bom’s purple blush makeup, which added to her unreal, striking appearance. On the same day, she also uploaded a selfie taken with her makeup staff, along with a caption clarifying, “It’s not a filter. It’s makeup.”

This was likely in response to some netizens who had recently commented on her photos, speculating that she might have used filters, as well as fans who have lamented about Park Bom’s use of filters to the point of “face distortion”.
Previous “Distorted” Updates
Meanwhile, previously on the morning of April 5, Allkpop reported that 2NE1’s Park Bom stirred up social media by uploading a new video to her personal Instagram account with the caption, “On my way home. Chanel jacket.” In the clip, the famous singer surprised fans with an unnatural look, drastically different from before her unusually large eyes and altered mouth raised eyebrows.
It turns out that the 2NE1 member had used a photo filter, making her face appear distorted in the video. Just days earlier, Park Bom had already caused a stir online after posting a photo showing a dramatically altered appearance, sparking speculation that she had over-edited her image.

Across various social media forums, fans expressed alarm and urged Park Bom to stop using filters and share natural photos and videos: “Delete that app, Park Bom. You look so much better without filters”, “Stop using those face-slimming apps” and “I can’t even recognize her anymore. Why use filters that make your eyes look huge?” Additionally, some netizens speculated that Park Bom, born in 1984, may be intentionally posting distorted images and videos to draw attention, especially since she recently sparked controversy by referring to Lee Min Ho with a special title. However, such assumptions remain speculative.

Over the past several months, Park Bom has been the subject of many trending discussions on Korean social media due to her allegedly unusual behavior. Earlier this year, she drew attention for repeatedly referring to Lee Min Ho as her “husband” on Instagram, leading to rumors that the two stars were dating or even secretly married.
Representatives for both Lee Min Ho and Park Bom eventually addressed the dating rumors. Park Bom’s side commented, “We are unable to confirm matters related to that post, as it pertains to the artist’s private life. However, considering similar incidents have happened before, we believe she simply wanted to express her admiration for Lee Min Ho as a fan.” Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho’s agency firmly denied the rumors in a brief statement: “Lee Min Ho does not know Park Bom. The dating rumors are completely unfounded.”

On online forums, many fans expressed growing concern that Park Bom may be experiencing serious psychological distress. The 2NE1 member’s physical health is also being questioned, as she has frequently shown signs of exhaustion and even pulled out of concerts midway. Netizens have warned that the situation is seriously alarming and are calling on Park Bom’s friends and family to help her seek treatment and recover both physically and mentally.
